Need a Break? We’re Here for You.

Caring for someone with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities is rewarding, and it can also be exhausting. Respite care offers temporary relief so you can recharge, run errands, take a vacation, or simply rest, knowing your loved one is safe and cared for.

Who We Serve: Individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

When: Available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Where: Pony Bird Respite Home.

Your stay can be as short as a few hours or as long as a week (or more).

The Pony Bird Respite Home includes:

  • Two semi-private rooms (two beds per room)
  • Full kitchen
  • Comfortable living and gathering area

Activities for Enjoyment: Arts and crafts, games, movies, walks, and even watching sporting events, we do like to have fun!

Admissions Criteria:

  • Referral from DMH/DDA Service Coordinator
  • Self-Referral with approved DD Waiver funding
  • Diagnosis of an intellectual or developmental disability
  • Free from Severe Maladaptive Behaviors that are dangerous to self and others and cannot be supported in a group setting.
  • Free from threats or attempts at suicide that cannot be safely supported.
  • Able to participate in an environment with non-medical personnel

Care is provided by trained, medication aid, Pony Bird staff. 

Reservations are Required.

All referrals will be evaluated by program manager to ensure the individual can be safely supported.
