As an educator, Pony Bird can help connect you to resources for your students with disabilities and their families.
Employment
Services
Pony Bird’s Employment Services program gives each individual tools and supports for their job search. A Case manager and job developer offer a variety of individualized support. To ensure job success, the program includes skill-building in resumes and cover letters, applications, job readiness training classes, mock interviews and retention supports for the first 90 days of employment.
Supported
Employment
Every individual receives intensive one-on-one support in our Supported Employment program. Supports include pre-employment Discovery and Exploration, job searches, job supports, and long-term retention. A wise variety of services come with each phase: community-based work assessments, job shadows, individualized job goals, job readiness training classes, support from a specialist during employment, and long-term follow along with the employer and individual.
Transition
Programs
The Summer Work Experience is a six-week work program which places groups of students at an employment site in the community. The students work 20 hours a week and are paid minimum wage. A member of the Pony Bird team stays on site with the students and conducts job readiness training classes. Qualified students must be entering into their high school senior year and have no prior competitive work experience.
